I remember the place where I was happy
In little bits and spurts of nostalgia.
Glowsticks lit between your teeth
Like subtle suns.
Pink synthdreds spinning in a wave of motion.
Black hair spilling over a white shoulder.
Limbs flung out in joyous motion.
Hands catching, fingers slipping through each other.
Not all places we were happy are stuck
In one spot.
There have been little glimpses since
Songs sung to ring tones on a darkened road
Fingers caught in d-rings in a hammock
But like fireflies against the sun
They are fleeting,
Still, if there is a place in which I am truly happy
It is you.
I make no excuses because you are ugly as sin
I am not wanted.
Still, in my memory you taste like a rollarcoaster
Heart-pounding and bright and exciting.
